OBJECTIVE: Provide a standard for all SCN members to participate in guild-sponsored raids. Because we have 200+ guild members it is necessary to make sure we standardize on a few game modifications (mods) to ensure smoother raiding and optimum communications.
PREREQUISITES: The following items are mandatory to participate in a guild-sponsored raid:
Omen
Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)
Ventrillo (Vent)
It is important that you review the capabilities of these mods and learn how to use their options and screen setup. Checking them daily is also recommended as things are added and changed often. Checking the wowmatrix website every day before starting WoW will keep these mods current and only takes a few minutes.
Omen and DBM are available at http://www.wowmatrix.com. This site will automatically load or update these mods when you select them. It works on both Windows PC and Mac.
Ventrillo client must be downloaded for your PC or Mac. The client version may be downloaded at http://www.ventrilo.com. A working microphone is mandatory.
Ventrillo setup information to connect to the guild server:
Sever Name: SCN
Password: password60
IP Address: 64.34.199.146
Port: 6025
Setup information will get you logged in as a “Guest”. To get your guild-unique Username and Password, contact Warren or Jack by sending in-game mail to Scnlockatcha (Warren) or Madarak (Jack). This Email should include the Username and Password you would like to use for your Guild User access.
Please do not sign-up for a guild-sponsored raid if you do not meet the above minimum requirements. Before each raid a check will be made to determine if each player has a current version of Omen and DBM. A microphone check will be conducted for Vent.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
#1 Be prepared! Log on time is not the time to repair, get potions/elixirs, respec your toon, or update your mods. We need to remember that others players have taken the time to get ready for the raid and it is inconsiderate to ask them to wait on others. Although real life (RL) may preclude adequate preparation, habitual behavior in this area will result in temporary removal from raids for up to two weeks.
Please keep in mind as we are learning new content be prepared to use consumables (e.g., potions, elixirs, food buffs, sharpening stones, runes, gold for repairs, etc).
Gear: Your toon must have appropriate gear. Please do not sign-up for a raid if you have mostly green gear. If you are in this situation, start with normal dungeons, grind some faction reputation for enchants, and complete the quest chain for the Karazan key. This will help you get some group and dungeon experience preparing you for your first 10 man raid. Grinding honor in Battle Grounds is another good option for some nice starting gear. The Raid Leader may make exceptions to this rule because we may need to take a member on a raid to get them better gear, which will be dependent on group raid experience. Normal and heroic dungeons, badge gear, reputation rewards and enchants on your gear will help you to achieve the below mentioned requirements.
#2 Planning: If you sign-up for a raid please make sure you have time to complete it and meet the minimum (unbuffed) PVE specification for your class.
Karazan (Kara) - 5 hours
Tanks/Off Tanks: 490 defense, 15% each for Dodge, Block, Parry

Tempest Keep (TK) - 5 hours

Black Temple (BT) - 5 hours
Tanks/Off Tanks: 490 defense 23% each for Dodge, Block, 18% Parry
Healers: 1900 + healing bonus
DPS: 850+
Note: Druids do not have block or parry simply around double the dodge for a good minimum. The specifications above are estimates. Websites like http://be.imba.hu/will help your rate your toon for where it will perform best and what you can do to improve its performance and meet higher raid requirements. Remember Google is your friend. You will find PVP/PVE specifications and great tips for your toon's class and game play. For example, Google search words "how to tank as a warrior" came up with http://www.wikihow.com/Tank-As-a-Warrior-in-World-of-Warcraft.
Northrend is no diffrent plan for 5 hours of raid time and make sure your geared up NO ELIXERS OR POT and FOOD BUFFS no ITEM rolls allowed come prepared..
Times will vary as we learn the fights, improve our performance (group and class dynamics), and obtain better gear. Initially, we will have to continue a raid the following day to complete it. Please keep this in mind if you are serious about moving forward with the guild. All of us will be on a learning curve the first few months of raiding new dungeons.
#3 On Time: You should log-on to your toon for the raid event on time. The log-on time is next to the raid date . This allows time to configure the raid. Configuring raids can be a time consuming activity for the leader and co-leaders so it is very important that you login on time with your raiding toon.
#4 No Show: A player will be considered a no-show if they have not logged on at the Deadline and will be replaced. GEM3 has a “Deadline” for each raid. The Deadline is 15 minutes before the raid is scheduled to start. You have to click on the scheduled event to see the Deadline.
If you are not able to make a raid you have signed up for, It is your responsibility to remove yourself from the raid schedule. Do not rely on others to pass along the message.
Habitual tardiness and no-shows may result in banning from guild raids for up to two weeks.
#5 Replacements: Do not sign up for a raid if you cannot stay for the scheduled duration. It takes time to find a replacement, which results in the entire raid waiting until that replacement is found. Even if a replacement is found it takes time to make sure the prerequisites are met and has the necessary gear, pots, elixir, etc. Your planning will help keep the raid moving so we don’t have to stop to find replacements.
#6 Looting: No boss looting until all members of the raid are resurrected.
#7 Gear Loot: All raid party members will have an opportunity to roll on gear appropriate for their class. The first roll is for main specification (main spec) for your toon. If no one wants the gear for his or her main spec then the Loot Master will announce a roll for off spec.
As a general rule, Guild members raiding with an alternate toon may only participate in the off spec roll to allow other Guild members playing on their main toon a better chance to gear up and help with Guild progression. Vent and raid chat should be clear to allow rolls to move quickly.
#8 Item Loot: To be eligible you must have pattern or item required skill level. Item loot includes formulas, receipts, plans, gems, etc.
#9 Breaks: Return to the raid on time. The raid leader will announce five minute breaks at appropriate times during the raid. A timer will be displayed (using DBM).
#10 Disconnecting/AFK: If a player disconnects or is AFK too many times during the raid they will be replaced. We need to keep the raid moving in consideration of other players and the time allowed for the raid duration.
#11 Ready Checks: A Ready Check (via DBM) is usually made before each mob/boss encounter. If you are not ready please press “No” on the Ready Check.
#12 Pulls: If you are low on Mana or not ready for the next pull for any reason, speak up and let the raid leader know before the next pull. Ideally the best time to do this is at the end of the last pull while the raid leader is marking mobs for the next pull. When you are ready, please speak up (Vent) and tell the raid leader.
Thanks to all for taking the time to read this information and your help to keep our Guild moving forward.
Happy Raiding SCNer's :-}
